Mike the Pike Productions, Inc. Launches Pre-Production on Multi-Million Dollar Sci-Fi Thriller ‘White Space’; on Location in Los Angeles Through July for Production

Mike the Pike Productions, Inc. (Pink Sheets: MIKP) (www.mtpprods.com) and Ryan Colucci’s’ Spoke Lane Entertainment proudly announce that the partners have launched pre-production on their high-concept sci-fi thriller, ‘White Space’. MIKP CEO/Producer, Mark B. Newbauer has relocated to Los Angeles for the shoot, where he, Colucci and other project principles are working diligently toward principle photography, which is slated for June 6, 2011 at premier studios and soundstages which will be announced in line with locations as pre-production moves forward.

Colucci notes, “We’re keeping a lot under wraps in line with announcement strategy, but the project is set in deep space, the year 2150; visually stunning, while at the same time, conveying a desolate landscape in line with the frightening themes at the core of the feature’s storyline.”

“The project has quite a bit on the table for Mike the Pike Productions and its shareholders as it marks the first feature film the company will engage in this year as part of its plans to produce no less than 5 feature films in the next 24 months,” states Newbauer. “We’ve had tremendous success with receptive financiers on projects such as ‘White Space’ and others, with initial funding already in place.

The deal includes MTP receiving 33% in all forms of backend revenue as shared by producers (theatrical, DVD, VOD, merchandising and ancillary) with a Company credit on the feature. Currently secured crew and assets for ‘White Space’ include Director of Photography, Unit Production Manager, Production Designer, Visual Effects, Cast and Locations, which will be announced in line with the companies’ industry strategies through pre-pro, principle photography and post-production with a fully finished feature in Q3.

“I think we have tremendous opportunity with the team on ‘White Space’ toward an exponential return on sales and long-term revenues,” states Newbauer. “As items are released in line with additional strategies for the project, I am confident we will attract long-term shareholders with solid potential for long-term growth; this, alongside the company’s goals to uplist in the near future,” states Newbauer. “We’ve yet to have an ideal opportunity to offer shareholders a dividend with weight. Since the restructure and, now, the momentum in our feature film division, it is our commitment to dividend shareholders from the company’s revenue share in each project so they may reap the benefits of their investment in direct proportion to our projects’ successes.”

IN DEVELOPMENT:

MTP Producers Ryan Colucci, Beth Newbauer and Mark B. Newbauer present: Game of Thrones author, George R.R. Martin’s, THE SKIN TRADE: From the best-selling author behind HBO’s Game of Thrones comes this white knuckle chiller with a string of unsolved murders immersed deep in lycan lore : When a series of grotesque killings strikes her small hometown, private detective Randi Wade becomes suspicious. The grisly murders remind her all too much of her own father’s death nearly 20 years ago. Now there is a killer in town who not only slays his victims, but also takes their skin. Undaunted, Randi takes the case head-on as the murders continue, each more brutal than the last. When a close friend suddenly becomes a target, he is forced to reveal a startling secret about himself and Randi is quickly pulled into a dark world within her own town where monsters do exist and even they have something to fear…

It’s out there…

I arrived in Los Angeles yesterday to jump feet first into pre-production on a feature film we’ve been developing since early 2011, ‘White Space’. As many who follow our news are aware, we were set to launch production on a feature called ‘Horse’ (which has been in development for some time due to cast availability) to be shot on location in Fort Wayne, Indiana- solid story, strong characters and something I’m very excited about— then I had a conversation with producing partner, Ryan Colucci- He showed me a script called White Space based on a story of his and written by a Screenwriter currently on contract with a major entertainment banner—-

I can’t say much at this time regarding premise/plot, but I can say that reading it took me back— it takes place in the future- deep space, and that usually takes me back to the 70’s and 80’s where classics like ‘Alien’ and John Carpenter’s ‘The Thing’ became staples in their genre— much of the fear and paranoia generated from solitude, paranoia and claustrophobia against backdrops like space and the ocean, which are concrete reminders of just how infinitesimal we, and our worries, truly are, have gone missing in recent years….until I entered ‘White Space’.

It was a done deal- on a Saturday at the supermarket I was in Fort Wayne; Ryan in New York and we agreed to move forward with a strong director on board who brings a unique asset to the shoot as a whole.

Shortly thereafter, with an impressive Pitch Deck outlining the project’s strengths, we secured initial funds to launch.  Here we are into a 13 hour day at the studio and I was excited to share the progress thus far with shareholders, friends and family with a few pics (below) snapshotting a few moments/images from today.

We’ll have much to share via press release (see our press page) through May/June/July in terms of accomplishments on the project toward a finished film aimed for theatrical release, with easy potential for multi-million dollar returns and solid positioning for successive projects we have in development such as George R.R. Martin’s ‘The Skin Trade’, which has only been helped immensely by the massive reception of HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’ which has catapulted the author’s impact and mass relevance.

Skin In The ‘Games’
Had a great meeting with George R.R. Martin — both an honor and a pleasure, and I mean that despite any cliche. It started with a brief background on each other and from there we enjoyed a delicious and, as-expected, overpriced breakfast at his hotel.
The guy is altogether human, personable and a lover of life. We talked about everything from HBO’s adaptation of his ‘Game of Thrones’ to 80’s anthology shows like Amazing Stories and Twilight Zone to potential Graphic Novel discussions… and, of course, we discussed the direction we’re heading with ‘The Skin Trade’, with the aim of turning out a classic, gritty thriller with mass appeal. No team Jacob here. We’re talking classic, hard-hitting cinema with in-depth characters and striking milieu.
BTW- congrats to HBO and GRRM as ‘Game of Thrones’ is picked up for a second season after only 1 episode!…..  One viewing is completely demonstrative of the claim that this is the network’s Sopranos of the Middle Ages… Sex, Mugs and f*ckin trolls… lol
Shortly thereafter, I paid a visit to our producing partner, Ken Locsmandi at his studio HQ for www.filmworksfx.com, which is also the home ofwww.newdealstudios.com and www.strangercomics.com. A great group of collaborators with hands in each others’ projects for a dream-team of a creative family grouped into one campus. More to come on that as, for shareholders and sideliners alike, we make announcements on our sci-fi thriller with Spoke Lane Entertainment set for principle photography this summer in Los Angeles. All involved feel it has amazing potential in terms of production value and overall capacity for revenue performance and audience satisfaction…
Again, thank you, GRRM, for your time today as we work toward making you proud with a film adaptation of The Skin Trade.

CONGRATS! -PRODUCING PARTNER- RYAN COLUCCI— HARBOR MOON ON SHELVES NOW!

from Ryan @ http://ryancolucci.blogspot.com/  Harbor Moon Hits Comic Shops - FINALLY

April 12 came and went with a whimper for me.  After months (over a year) of the book being done, Harbor Moon finally shipped last Tuesday. It is at once my greatest accomplish and the bane of my existence. It has been such a struggle from its very inception (me calling Brian Anderson in 2003) to last week - and not for any other reason than other people. The best part of the entire process was dealing with Karol/Pawel and then all of those that accepted the book for review - some of who I talk to on a very consistent basis. One of those reviewers, who I had zero relationship with before his review of the book, actually wrote a script for me (details to follow). Company politics, vulture producers and a host of other miscreants have come and gone throughout the process - but one thing never wavered - my belief in the book and myself. I am glad I was created this way - disturbed and with a laser-like focus, that is usually to my detriment but propels me to do things others can’t or won’t. And I hope you have a chance to check out Harbor Moon - because I believe that what we did is worthy of your time (and money). And if you do check it out, and like it, please take the time to submit a review on Amazon.  Your words can go a long way. It was my dream growing up to make comics - and I am proud of the fact I have been able to accomplish that. It’s hard pulling it off when you yourself aren’t the artist, and it is even harder trying to sell them - but when you love what you are doing and the products you are putting out it makes it all worth it.
